Express will host Kitara in a highly anticipated Uganda Premier League match at Hamz Stadium, Nakivubo, on Tuesday.
The home team is desperate for a win to avenge the humiliating 7-0 defeat they suffered against Kitara at Royals Park, Buteme, in the first leg of the season.
In that match, Express was trailing by three goals at halftime, and Fred Amaku missed a penalty that could have changed the game’s momentum.
The poor performance drew significant criticism, but Express now has a chance to lift the spirits of its fans by securing a victory against Kitara.
Express head coach Wasswa Bbosa is optimistic that his team can break their scoring drought, having gone four games without a goal.
“We have been blunt in front of goal and have gone four games without scoring. I believe we have rectified our mistakes,” he said.
“We must approach this game with maturity. If we follow our game plan, I am very confident we will win,” he added.
Kitara will be bolstered by the return of attacking midfielder Titus Ssematimba, who has completed his suspension.
In their last five encounters, Kitara has won three times, while the Red Eages has claimed two victories.
