Mike Mutebi has ruled out a return to coaching despite a brief spike in speculation that was linking him to former club KCCA.
There were reports of the most successful tactician in the history at Lugogo returning to the club after they parted ways with Abdallah Mubiru.
However, in a brief interview with Kawowo Sports where he was part of the spectacle in the stands as his former side suffered a 2-0 defeat to Vipers in the Uganda Cup final at Kadiba refuted any claims.
“I am done,” he said. “There is no returning to management. I had my time and enjoyed it,” he added.
The former Uganda Cranes coach also said no when asked if he can manage the national team if an opportunity arises.
The vastly experienced tactician last management job was in Rwanda where he coached AS Kigali in 2022.
He is the last manager to win a trophy for KCCA in 2019.
Meanwhile, despite defeat, Mutebi was impressed with KCCA’s display at Kadiba.
“Not a very good game from either side but KCCA were slightly better in terms of how they played.”
KCCA are likely to be in the market for a new head coach after Jackson Magera’s interim stint end disappointment.

Would really have loved to have him back. But it is okay.
