Uganda Cranes forward Allan Okello believes that the Uganda Cranes picked key lessons from their Group C AFCON opening match against Tunisia.

The Cranes lost 3-1 to Tunisia and are rooted at the bottom of the group. Uganda will face East African neighbours Tanzania in Rabat in their second group match.

Okello, who was a second-half substitute against Tunisia, believes there is much to change for the Cranes.

“We just need quite some simple learning for us to be able to win our next game (vs. Tanzania),” he said.

“We didn’t do well in our previous game but we always learn from our mistakes and we are ready to perform better tomorrow,” he added.

Both Uganda and Tanzania lost their opening matches. There is all to play for.

Okello, who is at his second Africa Cup of Nations, acknowledges that the competition is a lifetime opportunity.

“I would say it is the biggest tournament in Africa. It can change someone. But it also comes with pressure. It is a big stage for me as a player to showcase what I have,” he said.
