Despite enjoying a breakthrough campaign so far, Entebbe UPPC striker Ambrose Kigozi, in his early 20s says he is still learning his trade.
The current league leading goal scorer with eight goals has been the season’s revelation scoring consistently in his debut season and netted the winner in the win over 13-time champions KCCA.
“I am happy with my current form and want to continue scoring goals and helping my team,” said Kigozi who joined the Printers from Fufa Big League side, Kiyinda Boys.
“My target was to score at least eight goals in the first half of the season and thankfully, I have achieved it,” he added with a smile.
“Now the target is to maintain the form and score as many goals and possible to help the team and also be the top scorer because I believe it is an attainable target.
“But the most important thing is to help the team improve and probably finish in the top four this season but also in the near future, lift the team to the table of boys and make UPPC a big team.”

For his form and consistency after scoring 8 goals in 10 matches, Kigozi gives credit to his coaches and teammates.
“I want to give credit to the coaching staff that teach new things every training session. I still have a lot to learn, continue to understand the game more especially with movements.
“And also, my teammates because without them, I can’t achieve the feat of scoring.”
Kigozi began from where he left last season at Kiyinda where he scored 13 goals and made 5 assists during the 2024/25 season.
Describing him, his coach Abdallah Mubiru says he is one of the best centre forwards he was worked with in his career.
“He is not only lethal in front of goal but also overall as a player, he is decent. He still has lots to learn but has the potential to be one of the best in the business and we hope he carries on.

“He is a good lad who wants to learn and has the attitude and character of a winner that we hope he can carry on throughout his career.”
As the team embarks on the journey in the Stanbic Uganda Cup, Kigozi also wants to replicate that form in the competition.
“The Uganda Cup is a tricky competition given it is played on a knock out but we want to go as far as possible and I want to also score goals and help the team.”
Entebbe UPPC gets their journey underway on Friday in Koboko against Ombachi Pride in the round of 64.
