Robert “Musomesa” Lubega has taken over the Public Relations Officer (PRO) role at Express Football Club.
The appointment followed a tranquil meeting by the club’s management committee and the fans held at Hamz Stadium (Nakivubo War memorial grounds) on Sunday, 8th February 2026.
The meeting was also graced by the FUFA Third Vice President Oweek. Florence Nakiwala Kiyingi.
“I am humbled for the appointment as PRO for Express Football Club and I am ready to serve the club to be best of my ability” Lubega, an ardent Express fan testified.

Lubega replaces Jeremiah Mugerwa who was recently elevated to the chairperson role under FUFA Club Licensing.
He brings off vast experience in leadership at different levels in football with a rich vein and interest in youth football management under the Uganda Youth Football Association (UYFA).
Lubega has also served for Kyadondo Ssaza as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) from 2025 till todate.
For long spells now, Express Football Club has been dogged by administrative hitches which have spilled down to the team proper, thus affecting the day-to-day operations of the club including performances of the Red Eagles.

This season, the club’s inconsistent displays have left them a mid-table entity with just 16 points, 20 adrift from the leaders Vipers at the half-way mark of the season.
