- Police 0-0 Vipers
Police hold Vipers in a goalless in the Uganda Premier League encounter at Police Arena Kira Road, Kamwokya on Tuesday.
Police came into the game having fallen to Calvary on a road so they badly needed a response having suffered a big loss to Vipers in the first round.
On the other hand, Vipers fought from a goal down to share points with URA so the game offered a chance to return to winning ways but the Cops had a completely different plan.
Charles Bbaale had a chance to give the hosts an early lead but Kevin Dasylva made a quick run to make a timely block in the fifth minute.
Glorious Mbeyuku’s delivery from the left flank picked Odili Chukwuma in the 30th minute but he planted his header on the ground before the ball bounced over the frame.
Five minutes later, Usama Arafat had his shot saved by goalkeeper Sammon Oloka before Karim Watambala missed the target from the rebound.
Two minutes into the second stanza, Beyuku witnessed his effort bounced off the woodwork before Watambala’s effort was cleared off the line by Richard Matovu.
Enock Ssebagala’s effort found the back of the net but the effort was flagged offside cutting the celebrations short.
Despite the goalless draw, Vipers remain on top of the log with 61 points while Police lie seventh with 45 points after 28 league games.
