As the Uganda Premier League hits the final corner, KCCA picked maximum points on the road to get closer to log leaders Vipers.

KCCA secured a hard-fought 2-1 victory against UPDF in the UPL encounter at Bombo Barracks Grounds on Wednesday evening.

Emmanuel Ocen gave UPDF the lead before Emmanuel Anyama and Katenga Openga gave the Kasasiro Boys maximum points.

The visitors started on the front foot but failed to burry their chances. Herbert Achai’s free kick went over the bar while Ashraf Mugume’s effort went narrowly wide.

Ochen fired home to give the visitors a lead in the 36th minute. It was a fruit of the Army side’s boldness in the opening stanza.

In the second half, KCCA threw everything on line to ensure that they return in the game and keep their title chase alive.

Anyama limped highest to node home Achayi’s delivery in the 87th minute giving the travelling fans a reason to jubilate.

Katenga completed KCCA’s comeback in the 89th minute as UPDF’s wheels went off when they were needed the most.

The victory takes KCCA to the second position with 58 points while UPDF remain 14th with 21 points after 28 league games.
