Boys:

MVP: Mark Mufuwa Muwanguzi (Airforce S.S)

  • Gold: Airforce S.S
  • Silver: Mbarara High School
  • Bronze: Luzira S.S

Girls:     

Most Valuable Player (MVP): Emilly Tasumba (Luzira S.S)

  • Gold: St Mark’s College Namagoma
  • Silver: St Joseph’s S.S. Naggalama
  • Bronze: Mengo S.S

Woodball climaxed at the Gulu University School of Medicine during the 2026 Uganda Secondary Schools Sports Association (USSSA) Ball Games II on Wednesday, 15th July.

After gruelling action that involved several schools, the action wound down with the semi-finals and finals.

Entebbe Municipality’s Airforce S.S won the boys’ category, after overcoming Mbarara High School (Chaapa) in the final 3-0 to take gold.

Luzira S.S was third to finish with bronze.

Mark Mufuwa Muwanguzi shows off his MVP accolade

Airforce’s captain Mark Mufuwa Muwanguzi was named as the most valuable player of the championship.

“We prepared well for this championship and are happy that we have delivered well. I thank all the other teammates, coaches and the school management for the support,” Muwanguzi remarked.

Girls:     

The Most Valuable Player (MVP) was Emilly Tasumba from Luzira S.S.

Tasumba scored 49 strokes to win the individual accolade.

In the team event, St Mark’s College Namagoma won gold with St Joseph S.S Naggalama taking gold, and Mengo S.S finished third for the bronze.

Rev. Canon Duncan Mugumya, the Commissioner at the Ministry of Education and Sports in charge of sports, was the chief guest during the closing ceremony, medal and trophy presentation.

Rev. Mugumya vowed to amplify the voice for woodball to be added to the FEASSA Games menu.
