Following six and half years of service as the Cape Verde head coach, Pedro Leitao Brito alias Bubista has resigned from the role.
Bubista will join Moroccan club RS Berkane in the Botola Premier League following his resignation.
The veteran tactician guided Cape Verde to the first ever World Cup and guided the Island nation to the knock out phase on first attempt before they were knocked out by then defending champions Argentina in extra time.
Berkane said the decision to appoint Bubista reflected “the success of his previous experience at the head of the Cape Verde national team”.
He replaces Mouine Chaabani, who recently took charge of the Tunisia national team on permanent basis replacing Sabri Lamouchi who was sacked during the World Cup.
Berkane finished runners-up in Morocco’s top flight last season and reached the semi-finals of the CAF Champions League.
