Uganda’s Lady Cranes 7s have continued to impress at the Safari 7s, securing five wins in as many games.

On Day 2, the Lady Cranes pulled victory from the jaws of defeat against Kenya’s second side, the Shibli.

The Cranes were trailing for the largest part of the game, but stayed in it thanks to tries from Lydia Namabiro and Mastula Namboozo.

In the dying minutes of the second half, while the score was at 14-12 in favour of Shibli, substitute Rachael Mufuwa showed absolute pace on the wing to win it for Uganda after the hooter.

The Lady Cranes then returned to comfortable winning ways when they faced Kenya’s Junior Lionesses. Namabiro was once again on the scoresheet as she continues to put her hand up for player of the tournament. Despite that 31-07 win, questions still linger on Uganda’s defence that seems to leak in every game.

On Day 3, Uganda has secured a 32-10 win over Tunisia, with the final round-robin game to come against the Kenya Lionesses.
