Prisons side Maroons FC has finally entered the transfer market and signed ten players to boost the squad ahead of the highly anticipated upcoming 2012/13 season.

The club has among others promoted three of its players from the reserve to the first team. These are Salim Kiyaga, Patrick Kaddu and Solomon Ole.

The recruits include last season’s Big League top scorer Osman Mutumba from Iganga TC. The big striker who netted 15 goals last season is expected to fill the void left by George Opiyo Abege who joined newly promoted side SC Victoria University.

Others are Dan Kulabako signed from Busunju FC, Rogers Mulira from Wandegeya, Ronald Magom from Misindye FC, Allan Tomusange from Victoria University and plus two students of Old Kampala Secondary School. These are Kamada Luboga and Patrick Agaba.

“Our policy is to promote young players and that is why we have recruited from the lower leagues, schools and from the reserves”, Maroons Coach Asaph Mwebaze told Kawowo Sports.

“The door is closed at the moment and I don’t expect to add any new signings”, he added.

The new recruits were also given jersey numbers that they will don next season. Dan Kulabako (4), Osman Mutumba (14), Kamada Lubega (17), Patrick Agaba (19), Allan Tomusange (21), Rogers Mulira (22), Salim Kiyaga (23), Patrick Kaddu (24), Solomon Ole (27) and Ronald Magom (29).
