Uganda Cranes co-coach Morely Byekwaso has on Monday revealed the final squad that will feature at the upcoming African Nations Championship.

Byekwaso revealed a 25-man squad during a press conference held at FUFA Complex in Mengo.

The coach believes the team is rrady for the task ahead and the target is to go beyond the group stage, a feat they have failed to achieve in the last seven attempts.

“We are set and ready for the tournament. The selected players are in perfect shape to make sure we perform well and achieve our prime target of going beyond the group stage.” He said.

The team is currently in camp at Cranes Paradise Hotel in Kisaasi. They had two build up games in Arusha against Tanzania and Senegal last week.

Allan Okello has been confirmed as the team captained, deputized by Joel Mutakubwa and Rogers Torach in that order.

Uganda is in Group A alongside Algeria who they face on Monday next week, Niger, Guinea and South Africa.

It should be noted that this year’s tournament is hosted by three countries namely; Uganda, Kenya and Tanzania, running from 2nd -30th August.
