Uganda was among the 16 countries at the 2025 FIBA AfroBasket championship hosted and won by Angola.

Pooled in group D alongside Senegal, Mali and Egypt, Uganda’s Silverbacks faced a stern test of the mantle and character, but gave their best effort.

Senega who won all the four quarters; 30-18; 14-12; 16-9 and 28-14 had Boissy and Gueye with 16 points apiece as Camara had 13 rebounds.

The Silverbacks then exhibited great fighting spirit during the 72-85 slip to Mali with Geu once again having a game-high 27 points as Coulibaly had 25 points.

Mali won the opening quarter 25-8; Uganda recovered to take the second 23-18 and the third 20-18 but Mali had the final laugh and smile with 24-21 in the closing quarter.

Komagum picked 13 rebounds in this match.

In the final group game, Uganda lost 64-77 to Egypt despite leading the opening quarter 18-17.

Egypt won the subsequent quarters; 17-15, 21-12 and 22-19.

Uganda’s Geu once again had the most points in the game; 22 with Komagum picking 12 rebounds.
