Supersport Signs deal with URU

With Ugandan football and cricket already basking in the glory of SuperSport’s world class coverage across the continent, Supersport has now entered a $750,000 three-year broadcast sponsorship deal with Uganda Rugby Union that is set to take the game of the rugby to the next level and further raise the profile of Ugandan sport.

The sponsorship deal was signed this morning(Wednesday) at Kampala Serena by Gary Rathbone, SuperSport’s head of Africa and Uganda Rugby Union president William Blick. “We are proud to extend our commitment to Ugandan sport through our new parthership with Ugandan rugby,” said Rathbone at the press breakfast.

The partnership is more than just a broadcast deal as SuperSport will also avail its vast resources and networks within the game in the southern hemisphere to help develop rugby in Uganda, where it is a growing force.

This Saturday SuperSport will broadcast the Nile Uganda Cup final between UTL Kobs and G4S Pirates at Dam Waters grounds in Jinja.
