Local soccer in the country is expected to grow with the launch and search for the next football commentator on their flagship SuperSport 9 East through Tabira Endiba which was unveiled this morning at Serena Hotel.

The broadcaster is embarking on a nationalwide search for a new member for its Uganda Super League commentating cast.

The first auditions will start from August 3-4 in Masaka

at Hotel Brovad and then move the following week to Kampala at the MTN Arena in Lugogo stadium from August 9-11.

The auditions will be open to all sexes and participants have to be 18 years old and above to take part in the exercise.

“SuperSport 9 East is there to serve the people of East Africa,” remarked SuperSport East Africa’s Marketing manager, Japheth Akhulia. “Who better to tell East African stories than East Africans themselves,hence our search for our new Uganda Super League commentator among you,the people of Uganda.”

The panel of judges to choose a Luganda football commentator will have reknown sports commentator and sports journalist Mark Ssali, others include Ruben Luyombo of Super FM,Innocent Tegusulwa of Bukedde TV and Bukedde FM and Aisha Nassanga from Capital FM.

Progression to the second phase is in the hands of a panel of judges who review all the audition footage and scale it down to a top 16.

The top 16 will then be trimmed to top eight,top four and ultimately the winner who will be announced on September 14.

Tabira Endiba is SuperSport’s second such search having successfully had one in Kenya called Bongo Boli which was won by Michael Were Odiambo Mukhusiah.
