National Basketball League new entrants City Oilers will be eyeing a dream start when they play 2011 FUBA league champions in their opener this evening at Lugogo Arena in the men’s Division one.
The newly promoted side started its pre-season by claiming the UCU Open and go into this tie is the under-dogs.
However they come against a side that wants to reclaim the league once again having lost Jimmy Enabu, who will be playing on the opposite of the court while prodigal son Norman Blick together with his brother Donald have rejoined Power.
The newly promoted side have also acquired last year’s NBL winning coach Mandy Juruni, who has an array to chose from that includes Mohammed Yusuf(guard) forward Andrew Opio formerly with Miracle others are Congolese import Kami Kabangu.
Power has also lost Colin Mukiza, Richard Balemwa, but will bank on Ben Komakech, Joseph Ikong, Isaac Afidra and the rest to claim the league again.
In the one game KCCA Leopards, last year’s women’s champions take on A1-Challenge in the Women’s Division 1 opening game.
