Kobs proved too good for Ezee Money Rhinos on Saturday as the side secured victory to keep in contention for the title they won last season.

Tries from Derrick Tukwasibwe, Scott Oluoch, Brian Odong and Emmanuel Echodu handed the defending champions their fifth win in six ahead of their postponed fixture against Heathens.

Ezee Money Rhinos had only one man on the score sheet — Kevin Makmot who kicked through three penalties for nine match day points.

Although Rhinos lacked the power to directly punch holes in the Kob’s back-line, Kevin Makmot opened the accounts for the home team, banking in a trio of penalties before Derrick Tukwasibwe dived over to reduce the gap.

Rhinos coach John Musoke took matters in his own hands playing due to the absence of prop Martial Tchumkam though by the time he came on in the second half, Kobs had already made the damage.

Kob’s James Ijiongat failed to convert his first attempt, kicking wide following Oluoch’s try off a scrum down, but he later kicked through for a penalty and a conversion for Brian Odong’s try.

Kobs Adnan Mutebi featured along Keith Seruyange as replacements, and were good enough to command closure of the gaps as Rhinos turned rampant in the dying minutes. James Ijiongat was once again on the counter attack but Rhinos were gifted a kick away amidst the interception.
