Betway Kobs defended their line for the last five minutes of the game and saw a Hima Cement Heathens’ try disallowed in that period to hand them 28-27 win.
James Ijongat missed a penalty early into the game but made up by converting all the four tries scored by the home side.
Alfred Karekaho drew first blood in the first half after benefiting from a Davis Kyewalabye quick start to touch down in the left corner of Legends Rugby Grounds.
Asuman Mugerwa then touched down twice for the visitors before Michael Amolo, Emmanuel Ecodu and Oscar Kalyango crossed the white chalk for the hosts.
At 28-21 in the last five minutes, Kobs looked to have run away already but Cox Babuhiga touched down to put Heathens to within just a point.
Philip Wockorach then scored from the middle of the posts but his try was disallowed with the assist judged to have been a forward pass to the relief of Ronald Musajja who had made the turnover.
“We defended well in the last five minutes and we really worked for the win,” Kobs captain Brian Odong told Kawowo Sports after the game.
Still unbeaten in the league, Kobs go into the two-week league break on the summit of the ten-team log.
