After close to two months of waiting, Ibrahim Saddam Juma announced his arrival at Lugogo with an impressive display in the 3-1 win over Morocco’s FUS Rabat in the CAF Confederation Cup.

The midfield gem was dominant on his debut and didn’t only play well but also got on the score sheet with an exquisite strike for KCCA’s second on the day.

Speaking to the press after the game, Saddam attributed his display to the coach and his teammates.

“I give all the credit to the coach for the belief he has put in me,” said Saddam. “And to the lads as well as this isn’t just about me but a team effort,” he added.

The former Vipers and Express FC midfielder hadn’t played competitive football since quitting the Red Eagles midway the second part of last season and towards the last quarter of the game, appeared waned something he denies.

He also told the press that he is comfortable anywhere on the pitch after doing so well in the anchorman’s role.

I wasn’t tired I had to slow the game. I was comfortable in the holding role. I can play anywhere as long as the manager puts me there.

His manager, Mike Mutebi was also impressed with what he saw as his new signing combined well with Muzamiru Mutyaba and returning Jackson Nunda to torment the North Africans.

Mutebi praised Saddam referring to him as the modern day schemer from deep.

The team was very coherent with them in midfield. I like players who can manipulate the ball and they did that. The way we play, we needed somebody that must scheme from deep and supply that ball and Saddam is that player. He proved that today.

KCCA’s next outing is on Friday July 3, 2017 in Tunis against Club Africain and a draw will be enough to take the Kasasiro to the quarter finals.
