At long last, striker Robert Ssentongo was cleared by the Entebbe International Airport Immigration department to fly out of the country.
Ssentongo was on Tuesday blocked by the immigration officials and denied to leave the country on grounds that he only had a one way ticket.
After consultations with his agent, the ticket was changed to two way and he was blessed to leave the country for Addis Ababa.
“It was all okay after my air ticket was changed to two way with a return option. I thank everyone who corporated well,” Ssentongo told Kawowo Sports.
The former URA and SC Villa diminutive center forward who last season featured for reigning Uganda Premier League champions, KCCA Football Club is set to complete his transfer to Ethiopian side Fassil Kenema F.C.
Ssentongo’s current employment at KCCA F.C expires at the end of the month and manager Mike Mutebi has indicated that he will not renew the center forward’s contract.
He is expected to finalize with Fassil Kenema over the weekend for a possible move whose financial nitty gritty clauses remain muted at large.
In case the deal makes a break through, this will be his second spell in Ethiopia, having played for St George in 2012-13 season.
