Entebbe Football Club was confirmed relegated following a 2-1 loss away to Wakiso Giants at the Kyabazinga Stadium, Bugembe on Thursday, 2nd May 2019.
John ‘Wesley’ Kisakye scored Entebbe’s goal as Norman Ojik and Ivan Kiweewa got the strikes that guaranteed Wakiso Giants of top flight football next season.
James Odoch’s coached side has 16 points from 19 matches and cannot survive after the bitter lose to Elgon group champions Wakiso Giants.
The club was previously Masavu before a take over after former FUFA Finance Director Anthony Kimuli purchased the club from Tonny ‘Masavu’ Ssozi.
The other Entebbe that previously played in the Uganda Premier League had change identity to ECON Sports Club.
It is now defunct following dismissal performance in the Buganda regional league where they skipped three matches and were exited from the league.
They join Nebbi Central who had earlier been relegated.
Coming to the final day of the season, two other clubs will be relegated.
Any of the four clubs Amuka Bright Stars (20), Kataka (21), Jinja Municipal Council (JMC) Hippos (21) and Bukedea Town Council (22) could be relegated.
Bukedea Town Council has a chance to redeem self when they host Nebbi Central on Saturday, 4th May 2019 at the Emokori play-ground.
In the Rwenzori group, Bumate United, Ntinda United and Kira United have been relegated.
Kireka United (21), Water (26) and Kabale Sharp (27) are all fighting for survival.
Kireka United could be relegated on Friday if they fail to win against Kabale Sharp.
Kabale Sharp only need a point to be safe ahead of their final game at home against Rwenzori group leaders Proline at the Kabale Municipal Stadium next week.
The end of the FUFA Big league regular season will be played next week.
