Mbale based Kataka Football Club recorded a 3-2 win on the road during match day 12 of the StarTimes FUFA Big League at Kakyeka Stadium on Sunday, February 13, 2022.
Kataka scored through Marcus Aka, Joel Ssendi (own goal) and a late-late strike by Shakuru Mafabi.
Nyamityobora’s captain Meddy Matovu registered a brace during the early kick-off duel that commenced at 2 PM.
The visitors took a 11th minute lead through Aka who tapped home at the back post following a long throw in by Steven Namaisi.
Namaisi’s long throw-in was brushed by Bashir Nyanzi to the path of Aka at the back post who tapped home for the lead.
The first of Matovu’s goals arrived in the 40th minute with a perfect curl past the advancing goalkeeper Edward Kasibante after a decent through ball.
The opening 45 minutes ended 1-goal apiece as the two sides returned to the locker-rooms for the mandatory half time break.
Matovu gave the Abanyakare the lead in the 53rd minute with a stunning long range shot-cum-cross that hit the post before heading for the net.
Joel Ssendi scored past his own goalkeeper with 13 minutes to play as Kataka made amends.
The goal galore continued when Shakuru Mafabi scored the winner on the stroke of full time, taking home with the left foot after goalkeeper Michael Lutaaya failed to punch away Namaisi’s tempting cross from the right.

Kataka returns to action on Thursday, 17th February 2022 with a home duel against Proline at Mbale Municipal Stadium.
On the same day, Nyamityobora will make the trip to Luweero to face Luweero United at Kosovo playground.
Three clubs shall earn sporting promotion to the 2022-2023 StarTimes Uganda Premier League.
