The two-business class air tickets to Uganda's professional golfer Ronald Rugumayo by Kenya Airways are for any destination of his choice.
Uganda’s only professional golfer at the 2023 Magical Kenya Golf Open Ronald Rugumayo was rewarded with two business class air tickets by Kenya Airways for his historic hole-in-one at Muthaiga golf club.
Rugumayo lit up the open with a well drilled ace on par-3 201 yard-hole 2 during the opening round where he returned 5-over par 76.
Kenya Airways has now rewarded Rugumayo with two business class air tickets to any destination of his choice.
“It is humbling to be rewarded. I am excited to have played the hole-in-one shot. My caddie told me play the shot like u did during the PRO-AM. Exactly, I did just that” Rugumayo stated.

He is the first Ugandan to score an ace in the 54 years history of the Magical Kenya open.
During the first round, John Catlin (USA) and Dylan Mostert (South Africa) returned an identical 7-under 64 to share the joint lead.
Kenya’s Muthai Kibugu was the highest ranked Kenyan professional after round one with 3-under 68 and went ahead to make the treasured cut for the total kitty of €1,750,000 (at least UGX 6,857,284,721.00).
After three rounds, Spaniard Jorge Campillo was leader of the 79 golfers who made the treasured cut from the second round.
Campillo was 12 under with decent rounds of 69, 68 and 63.
A total of 156 golfers took part in the championship that winds down on Sunday, March 12, 2023 with the closing round to make 72 holes’ action.

Rugumayo, like many East African golfers failed to make the cut.
Last year, he also played the first two rounds scoring 76 and 69 to bow out narrowly from the cut.
The tournament was won by China’s Wu Ashun, who earned €297,500.00 (at least UGX 1,162,288,525.04) in prize money.
The tournament was officially launched by Hon Ababu Namwamba, the Kenyan cabinet secretary Youth Affairs- sports and the arts where Absa Kenya announced a Ksh 70,000,000 sponsorship.
