  • UPDF 0-3 Kitara

A second half masterclass from Denis Omedi saw him score three times as Kitara beat UPDF 3-0 at Bombo to go second.

After a goalless first stanza, Omedi broke the deadlock with an improvised header to put the visitors in the 57th minute lead.

He doubled the lead in the 65th minute with a well taken strike after getting behind the defence to hit a half volley with substitute Frank Tumwesigye Zaga sending him through on goal.

He wasn’t done yet as a similar run behind the naïve UPDF defenders saw him get at the end of a long ball from his goalkeeper to stab home and make points safe.

Kitara now leapfrog Vipers and with 32 points, they are two points behind BUL who could only manage a goalless stalemate at KCCA on Friday with the army side staying second from bottom with nine points.

Action in the Premier League continues on Sunday with Wakiso Giants visiting Soltilo Bright Stars while Busoga United are at home to NEC.
