Overview:
The University Football League has been played for the past decade and is hailed for providing a platform to showcase raw talents which have been tapped for a number of entities in the FUFA Big League, Masaza Cup teams, Uganda Premier League and also the national team.
Pepsi University Football League 2024-2025:
- Final & Third place: Sunday, 27th April 2025
- Final: Uganda Martyrs University Nkozi Vs St Lawrence University (3 PM)
- Third place: Bugema Vs IUIU (12 PM)
- Venue: Mutesa II Wankulukuku Stadium
The Pepsi University Football League for the season 2024-2025 will climax this Sunday on 27th April 2025 at the Mutesa II Wankulukuku stadium.
On the day, there will be two matches; the third place and final games.
Uganda Martyr’s University Nkozi locks horns against St Lawrence University in the grand finale at 3 PM, a repeat of the 2022 final at Lugogo (UMU won 1-0 courtesy of Sunny Kaija’s goal).
The early kick off will be a contest between the two losing semi-finalists Bugema and Islamic University In Uganda (IUIU) at mid-day.

St Lawrence University who are coached by Davis Nono Ssozi qualified after ejecting IUIU in the semi-finals over two legs.
Meanwhile, Eric Kisuze’s coach Uganda Martyrs’ University (UMU) Nkozi knocked out Bugema University 2-0 on aggregate after two legs.
The first leg in Nkozi ended 2-0 in favour of UMU with the return leg at Bugema settling for a goal-less stalemate.
There is plenty to play for on this final day as it is the winner takes it all affair.

Besides the glittering trophy and gold medals at stake, there is also a good prize money.
The second best team will also get silver medals and a cash prize.
Bugema University and Islamic University In Uganda (IUIU) face off in the third place play off for the bronze medals.

Famous names to come out of this team include Yasser Mugerwa, Derrick Were, Hannington Ssebwalunyo, Joshua Letti Lubwama, the current captain of Express Alex Emmanuel Wasswa, Bruno Bunyaga, Fred Kyambadde, Martin Sseruwagi, Titus Ssematimba, Siraje Musindo, Owen Kasule, Blanchar Mulamba and a number of others.
