2nd Pallisa Corporate Tournament at Busitema University Pallisa Campus

The Busitema University Pallisa Campus successfully held the second Pallisa C orporate tournament under the theme “United for mothers’ safe birth for every goal”.

The tournament aimed to raise awareness in the community about the importance of safe childbirth for mothers.

The collections from the tournament are meant to help in the procurement of hospital birth beds for the Pallisa maternity ward.

“Busitema University aims to serve the community through community sports and sports for health” Dr. Agnes Baluku remarked.

23 corporate clubs registered and participated in the tournament with each paying Shs 300,000 towards the cause.

Some of the teams included Busitema University, Pallisa General Hospital, DHT, Total Energies, Naksh Lounge, HSD, Wudang, Baylor, Pallisa District Local Government, Al Haq, Pallisa Hospital Legends, St Peter’s Amusala, DIPIC Photography, DFCU Bank, Centenary Bank, Arab Contractors, Pallisa CPS, Busia CC, Wudang Mountains, Kumi Corporate Club, Platinum Funeral Services, Agule Legends, Wazeyi Pro, among others.

By the close of business, Kumi Corporate Club were champions ahead of the rest of the crop.

More sponsorship came in from the different individual well-wishers.

The tournament will continue next month in Mbale city, where Busitema University Mbale Campus and Mbale hospital will host.

Busitema University has seven Campuses which cover the Eastern Region (Busitema in Busia district, Nagongera Campus in Tororo district, Mbale Campus in Mbale city,  Kabwangasi Campus in Butebu district, Pallisa Campus in Pallisa District, Namasagali Campus in Kamuli district, Arapai Campus in Soroti district and Jinja study centre in Jinja.

For starters, the University offers certificates, diplomas, degrees, masters and PhD programmes.

Busitema University is aimed to serve the community through various community sports programmes.
